The drums and some of the rhythm guitars for Under a Puzzled Sun were recorded in December 2022 when the songs for the album Flor started. In the Fall of 2023 we started the process of completing the songs for this album finishing adding tracks by June 2024.
Bio
Desert Mind is an original alternative rock band based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Formed in 2022, their sound blends deep, melodic, and rhythmic alt rock with touches of Americana and a distinctive style they call Transcendental Desert Rock.
The band is composed of Don Redondo, who drives the rhythm on drums and bass, and Antonio Dixon, who handles vocals, guitar, songwriting, and composition. Desert Mind performs both full band sets and intimate acoustic shows, bringing versatility to a wide range of venues.
Their second studio album, Flor, was released on June 21, 2023, and features the standout track "Under the Stars", which was nominated as a finalist in the 2024 New Mexico Music Awards in the Modern Rock category.
On December 21, 2024, Desert Mind released their third studio album, Under A Puzzled Sun. This album explores themes of the human experience, nature, and the cosmos—delving into the stories we tell ourselves and how we navigate our journey through life. Under A Puzzled Sun has been nominated as a finalist for Best Rock Album in the 2025 New Mexico Music Awards.
